ConceptFrom Funding Reports to a Funding Database
Funding data is public – and still barely usable. The FFA, the regional film funds and other institutions publish their awards in reports, PDFs and lists, each in its own format. Anyone who wants to know what has been funded across the board is left compiling it by hand.
The plan is a pipeline from source to database: agents fetch the reports, Document Extraction turns prose and tables into structured records, and the result is a queryable funding database.

Every industry knows the pattern: the data exists, but it is scattered across dozens of sources and locked in formats made for readers, not for analysis. Nobody closes the gap between “published” and “usable” by hand – the maintenance burden is simply too high.
