Taktoro is live and flags every working-time violation before it becomes a problem

With taktoro.de and taktoro.com, our new product for companies in Germany is live: time tracking that checks every entry against the German Working Hours Act (ArbZG) before it is saved. Breaks, rest periods, maximum working hours and the record-keeping duty are built in, not booked as add-ons. Developed and hosted in Hamburg.

What Taktoro does differently

Other tools record working time. Taktoro checks it. Violations do not happen in the monthly report, they happen at the moment of entry, so that is where Taktoro checks: if someone books six hours of work without a 30-minute break, the row turns yellow and HR sees it in the same second. Whatever only shows up in a report is usually too late.

Built in are the sections of the Working Hours Act that matter day to day: the eight-hour maximum, extendable to ten only with compensation (section 3), breaks of 30 minutes after six hours and 45 minutes after nine (section 4), eleven hours of uninterrupted rest between two working days (section 5), Sunday and public holiday rest (section 9) and the complete record-keeping duty under section 16. Since the Federal Labour Court ruling of 13 September 2022, time recording is mandatory in Germany. Taktoro makes sure that does not turn into a reporting marathon.

What comes as standard

What other vendors bill as add-ons is part of the configuration in Taktoro. Public holidays apply per site and federal state and are assigned to every employee automatically, no spreadsheet needed. Several contracts can be stored per person, for a part-time reduction or parental leave for example, with full history and no data loss. HR can correct entries on behalf of an employee, and every action is stored with its reason in the audit trail. Exports to CSV, Excel and PDF or straight to DATEV come out of the same overview.

The data path ends in Germany: hosted in Frankfurt, without sub-processors in the US and without a risk-assessment annex in the data processing agreement.

Who it is for, and how it starts

Taktoro is made for HR leads, managing directors and works councils in medium-sized and larger companies in Germany, where working-time compliance is not a formality but a personal responsibility. Employees enter their week in under ten seconds, HR sees the whole team in one table, and management gets audit-proof exports without a detour.

We do not sell by credit card. It starts with a conversation about contract structures, shift models and locations, followed by a proposal with a configuration and a plan for the team size. Test instance, data migration, training and go-live are scheduled together. Whoever rolls out the product has our direct line. Everything else is at taktoro.com.

php-mjml is open source: our MJML renderer for PHP

MJML turns a simple markup language into responsive HTML email, usually with a Node toolchain doing the work behind it. We ported it to PHP end to end: php-mjml/php-mjml needs no Node.js, no second runtime in the deployment. It has rendered this website's emails since February; as of this week it's open under the MIT licence for anyone to use.
